Sarong, Cheese and a Foosball Table??

last week, my southeast asian professor commented in lecture that although majority of us are southeast asian, we wear western clothing and not say...sarongs.

well, today i wore a sarong! more like a sarong skirt that is. what fun! my friend and i pakat-ed to wear them. just for the heck of it! it felt weird though. got a few 2nd looks. but otherwise, it was fun! kooky but fun! and i wore many bangles of different colours! maybe i should go for a themed outfit a month! yeah!

and then, i got the sudden desire to cook. no idea why! maybe it's stress, or boredom, or just wanting to do something, i thought of cooking! making food from scratch! going grocery shopping, looking at all the pretty vegetables, and then cooking something absolutely exotic! and perhaps it helped that i saw the story of cheese on central today! it was fascinating! and i love the old advert from kraft cheese! it also made me feel like having macaroni and cheese! yum! and also regular cheese and crackers! hee hee

i can't make out what i'm writing about today. i'm too sleepy. all i know is i want cheese and i want a foosball table. blame joey and chandler!

nights all!

I Wanna Take Me Away and Hide...

they say 23rd jan is formulated to be a bad day? i say it's the 24th! somehow, i'm not as excited abt school as i was in semester 1. uni is hard. the modules i'm taking are hard! and i felt sooo much like a bimbo for tutorials today. i completely forgot how to speak. and that's bad. way bad. i have a stiff neck from a rough night yesterday. plus i've yet to meet up with some friends! somehow our timetables just clash! i havent met nad, su, denise, cindy and so many others for lunch yet! where's all the fun and excitement and motivation of yesteryear??

"Honey...Pass the Papers Will you?"

is it me or is the newspaper reporting a whole lot more of stuff that just make you go absolutely speechless?

Top of the list: US bombing Pakistan on...again...false information. just drop a bomb from the air. why not? nice targetting dont u think? never mind that they killed innocents. what's a few women and children? they own the damn sky anyway. if u ask me, they are ones with wmd. why why why nobody banned carpet bombing??

And then there's... that dude who think single-sexed schools are just baaaaddd. apparently, we're just brought up to isolated, frigid little beings with no social training. er....right.

How bout US not wanting to give its 4 marines to philipines? for charges of alleged rape. if it was the other way round, who wants to guess who'll be the first charging and storming claiming for the accused to stand trial in their country? let's make a bet.

Last but not least... that journalist who ridicules every proposition by the opposition in a very mocking and snide manner. i'm sorry, but being pro-PAP does not entitle you to shoot down the opposition WITHOUT reason or CLASS in the one widely read paper we have. its ur view. i get that. but look at the context darling! politics is dirty, we all know that, but please be a bit more discreet about it. i prefer to see politicians who is witty and yes, artistic in their battle, rather that high-school-name-calling-drama.

so i'm not exactly speechless. but when i first read them, it does make me go "what the --". i do like america. they have really brought a lot of good things in this world. and the people are nice. i just dont get the administration aka bush and the military aka bush. do they even realise what they are doing??

and do the other 2 realise what they are writing?? i say writing and not saying becos we all say stupid stuff we dont mean. but this is published!!! surely they felt it was a worthy read. riiighht...

Almost like a Bell Jar

! ! ! ! Auuurrrghhhuttthhhhttthgggrrrrhhhtttt ! ! ! !

*runs amok round and round till slammed into a door (which by the way really happened)*

i seriously think i may have an asthma attack. not that i have asthma. but the realisation that school is about to start and i haven't cleared by books cupboard and reading the module descriptions and requirements and so many quizes and the pressure of doing well so i can go to freaking canada or states or uk so i can see snow and i'm not really in school-mode yet and now with project iap to boot and my hols is closing in and i still have a lot of typing to do and my room is in a mess and i still havent gotten a 2006 planner because i cant find it and for some reason i'm tired when i shouldn't cos there's a lot to do but i can't take a nap either and i still have one and a half more books to read and the library due date is nearing but i cant read cos i have no time to read cos i have to clean my room and i have all these meetings and i'm perpetually broke and people are already gathering notes in the library now but i haven't done anything and now i really don't think i can breathe!!! *sobs*

ok...i need to breathe. *breathe* somehow my feet are cold and i'm wearing these stripey socks with my jammies. i look like a geek! maybe not having a pajamas day is a good thing after all!

nineflavours... out.

Out with the Old, In with the Late...

Auld Lang Sing forgot....

WAITAMINUTE!! Hold the celebrations there a second! No! Don't pop that party popper just yet! Wait i said! *WAIT!!!*

Thank you. Much better!

Now how is it that I'm celebrating an event that marks a spanking new year when I don't even feel it's the new year! It's bloody too early, don't you think? You mean 2005 just sneaked out of the back door?? Ran away? Packed its little belongings in a red polka-dot hankerchief knotted to a branch and went hitch-hiking? Come on! I think, like a good detective, I shall investigate how this happened before I usher in the new year...

Careful now. Watch your STeeEeeEePpPPP....Aaaaaahhhhh! (sound of me falling...through a supposed long tunnel)

Jan 2005: Whoa! Where am I? Man! I'm at Raffles Place Mrt Station! Oh! But I'm walking...walking...hey! Macs! Wait! This looks familiar! I'm in circular road! This place...this office...so familiar! Holy crap! its nbyn! my first job! those lights! that cute ang-moh guy! the stairs! my boss! a very good 1st boss! oh look! my desk! ugh! the phone! bleagh! the leads! *puke* the customers!!! and familiar faces! oh yeah! i worked here! and me taste of independence when mom went to month-long haj! fighting with the washing machine. cooking...er...sometimes.

Feb : My surprise birthday party!!! Wow! thanks to all me lovely friends! And it was CNY to boot! yummy cake! jenna saying something really hilarious but i cant remember what! and the job hunting! was bored with telemarketing! tuition coordinator...worse investment i ever made! a screwed up interview! and ended with a sad goodbye to old bosses.

March: Training at Starbucks! Yup, i was a starbucks girl! made friends! had a great time! learnt a lot! Fun fun fun! Then the A level results...sigh sigh sigh! then applications...double sighs...

Oct - Nov: Major hibernating at library! had a blast with some of the craziest pple i know! i did a bit of studying too! then...EXAMS!!! my return to the stage as an actor after yrs! *gulp* cramped halls, cramped hands!

Dec : nothing but going OUT OUT OUT!!! i wont say i was a slacker...cos i did do some exercise...mainly walking.... and then project iap! sigh.... last 2 weeks burnt quite unglamourasly! but hope that'll be fun too!

WHOA! ok..so now i don't feel 2006 came too fast...IT WAS BLOODY LATE!!! it should have arrived in...AUGUST at most! i didnt even realise i did that many things in one year. usually..i dont! wow! i guess it was a pretty fulfilling year! i had a wonderful family and great friends to share it with! some minor setbacks, but i was generally happy. it was a good year. but even so, it would have been better if those hurricanes, tsunamis, floods, bombings, terrorism, diseases kept out of the way. was it a good year for the world? sure economy grew, but the human condition? i hope 2006 will be much much better! and make it in our resolution to make the world a better place!

i hope everyone will be blessed with a good year! yes...i'm ready to welcome 2006 to this crazy world of ours...of course not without some good luck..and maybe a protective helmet!

welcome.
